Have you ever been to Val d'Orcia? It is a beautiful land, the pride of the whole of Tuscany and for the whole of Italy. The Casa Picchiata di Pienza farmhouse stands on rolling hills that lull the golden wheat fields of the surroundings, with the red earth that seems to embrace the warmth of the suggestive sunsets. The impetuous force of nature recalls, in the eyes of those who visit these places, scenarios worthy of the ancient Roman memory, as evidenced by the scene of the Elysian Fields interpreted by Russel Crowe in Il Gladiatore, shot in these boundless fields. Our wellness farm in Val d'Orcia dominates the area and pushes the view to the surrounding ancient villages. The Podere, immersed in a large garden of roses, fragrant lavender, olive trees and tall cypresses, is striking for the simple and reassuring beauty of the Middle Ages, a period to which the entire structure dates back, typical of the houses of Bagno Vignoni, Rocca d'Orcia, San Quirico and Radicofani. Imagine yourself here, gently abandoned to a restful rest, far from the convulsive rhythms of modern life, close to yourself.

Over the years, we have adapted the historical environments of the family to meet your needs for comfort and rest, and to offer you relaxing holidays in a farmhouse with swimming pool in Val d'Orcia. We have three apartments, three elegant superior rooms and three standard rooms, all furnished with traditional furniture and original antiques. For us, each environment is like a "guest room", rooms different from each other and characterized not by a number, but by the name of flowers and trees typical of the Tuscan flora. We leave nothing to chance to satisfy you and your animal friends, always welcome.

A family farm for relaxing holidays

Ours is a small company of 44 hectares able to offer excellent durum wheat, olive oil, vegetables and fruit always tasty and fragrant, in small quantities. Inside our wellness farm in Tuscany you can see animals typical of our agricultural countryside, also part of the rural tradition of the area. Working in the fields and managing our agriwellness at the same time can be tiring and demanding but it is the only way to establish a positive relationship with customers and future friends. The formula is simple, and this also comes to me from my grandparents: commitment, love for the land and a little healthy Tuscan hospitality to allow you to enjoy our artistic landscapes and give you a foothold to explore the best itineraries in Val d ' Orcia.

History

This is the story of Casa Picchiata, a traditional farmhouse in Pienza in Tuscany used since 1999 as a wellness center and holiday home with direct agricultural production. The cottage that welcomes our guests, built by my grandparents over the course of a lifetime, lies in the beauty and magic of the beautiful Val d'Orcia, a UNESCO heritage site since 2004 together with the equally beautiful historic center of Pienza.

«I can only confirm what was written by the other guests. The structure is located in one of the most suggestive areas of Italy, Val D orcia, moreover just 5 kilometers from Pienza. From here you can leave to admire all the cities (Montalcino, Siena, Bagno Vignone), and after having made a historical tour in these wonderful medieval cities, you can relax in the heated swimming pool of Casa Picchiata, and be pampered by the attentions of Gabriella and her husband, and enjoy the Tuscan delicacies expertly prepared by Grandma. «The welcome of the whole family of Mr. Gabriella, we felt part of the family. The super breakfast, every morning a rich buffet of homemade cakes and biscuits !! We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful spot. Gabriella and Nicola are amazing. Our room was clean and the view to die for. There are good restaurants in the vicinity but we had dinner at Casapicchiata twice and the food was excellent. The agriturismo is a great base to explore the Val d’Orcia.
